About the Paulo Cleveland Division

Paulo’s Cleveland Division provides specialized vacuum heat treating, brazing, and hot isostatic pressing services for some of the world’s most advanced manufacturers. Its dozens of vacuum furnaces and other thermal processing equipment use world-class process controls to provide unparalleled repeatability for the parts we process. With an AS9100 quality management system and Nadcap accreditation, the Cleveland Division is especially suited to serve the aerospace and power generation industries.

Clevland Division Equipment

Vacuum Furnace

The vacuum furnaces at Paulo Cleveland are Nadcap certified and can perform vacuum hardening, solution treating, and vacuum brazing processes. 

  • Number of Furnaces: 34
  • Maximum Working Area Size: 60″ x 42” x 42”
  • Minimum Temperature: 650°F
  • Maximum Temperature: 2,400°F
  • Maximum Capacity: 8,000 lbs @ 2400°F
  • Atmosphere: Nitrogen/Argon

Hot Isostatic Press

Our QIH-122 URC HIP vessel is AS9100 and Nadcap certified. Developed by Quintus Technologies®, the QIH-122 URC combines traditional hot isostatic pressing with heat treatment in the same cycle. It is suited for all markets from AM (additive manufacturing) and MIM (metal injection molding) to investment castings. Equipped with Uniform Rapid Cooling (URC) technology, the HIP vessel can achieve a maximum cooling rate of 900°F per minute (15°F per second) under select conditions.

  • Maximum Capacity: 2,000kg (4,409lbs) per load
  • Maximum Work Zone: 26” wide x 68.9” high 
  • Operating Temperature: 2,552°F (1,400°C)
  • Pressure: up to 30,000 psi (2,070 bar)
  • Atmosphere: Argon

Brazing Furnaces

We offer vacuum and hydrogen brazing in our Cleveland Division with the ability to apply the brazing alloy using screenprinting technology. The vacuum brazing furnaces can handle loads up to 44” x 42” x 60” that weigh up to 8,000 pounds at a maximum temperature of 2,450°F. For hydrogen brazing, our furnaces can accommodate components up to 30” wide and 12” high at a maximum temperature of 2,075°F.
