Paulo adds Hot Isostatic Pressing Service

Paulo is excited to announce the purchase of a Hot Isostatic Press from Quintus Technologies.  The HIP vessel will be installed in the Cleveland Division’s recent expansion and primarily support densification and heat treatment of investment castings and additively manufactured parts. Paulo’s Cleveland Division currently supports the Aerospace and Power Generation industries with Heat Treatment and Brazing. The addition of HIP will provide additive manufacturers and casting houses a one stop shop for thermal processes.
The Quintus model QIH 122 was chosen for its ability to rapidly cool and achieve quench rates that can allow the combination of HIP and solution treatment cycles for some alloys. The working dimensions of the vessel are 26” diameter and 68.9” height. The vessel is capable of a maximum temperature of 2552F and maximum pressure of 30,000psi of Argon.  This size and configuration is well suited to support additive manufacturing and the ability to combine HIP and heat treatment will allow for faster turnaround time through thermal processing.
