Tiene una concentraci\u00f3n de carbono relativamente baja en comparaci\u00f3n con los aceros D2 y A2 (0,45 - 0,55%) y bastante menos cromo (3,00 - 3,50%). Presenta una excelente resistencia al impacto y a los golpes y una buena resistencia al reblandecimiento a altas temperaturas. El S7 es comparativamente menos resistente al desgaste, pero es muy duro. Resiste bien la distorsi\u00f3n durante el tratamiento t\u00e9rmico.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/paulo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/S7-mechanical-properties.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7925\" src=\"https:\/\/paulo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/S7-mechanical-properties.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"595\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nEs la m\u00e1s blanda de las formulaciones de acero comparadas en este art\u00edculo, alcanzando un rango de dureza de trabajo t\u00edpico entre 48 - 58 HRC. Su \"punto dulce\" de dureza es de 54 a 56 HRC y su l\u00edmite el\u00e1stico es de 235 ksi a 500 grados Fahrenheit. A estos niveles, consigue un buen equilibrio entre resistencia y ductilidad.<br \/>\nLas propiedades del acero para herramientas S7 lo convierten en el tipo preferido para remachar, entallar, troquelar en fr\u00edo y doblar matrices; remachadoras de toro, rompedoras de hormig\u00f3n, clavijas, placas de perforaci\u00f3n y cubos.<\/p>\n<h2>Propiedades del acero para herramientas D2<\/h2>\n<p>Esta f\u00f3rmula de trabajo en fr\u00edo y de endurecimiento por aire presenta concentraciones muy altas de carbono y cromo (1,40 - 1,60% y 11,00 - 13,00%, respectivamente). Es muy resistente al desgaste y la alta concentraci\u00f3n de cromo le confiere una leve resistencia a la corrosi\u00f3n.<br \/>\nEl D2 es menos resistente que los aceros para herramientas S7 y A2, pero presenta una buena estabilidad durante el tratamiento t\u00e9rmico. Es dif\u00edcil de mecanizar y rectificar y ofrece una resistencia media o alta al reblandecimiento cuando se utiliza a altas temperaturas. El D2 puede alcanzar un rango de dureza templada aproximado de entre 54 y 61 HRC y presenta un l\u00edmite el\u00e1stico de compresi\u00f3n aproximado de entre 275 ksi y 319 ksi a medida que aumenta la dureza.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/paulo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/D2-chart.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7926\" src=\"https:\/\/paulo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/D2-chart.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nEl acero para herramientas D2 se utiliza a menudo para fabricar matrices de corte, matrices de conformaci\u00f3n en fr\u00edo, matrices de estampaci\u00f3n, cortadoras, punzones, matrices de corte y matrices de laminaci\u00f3n de roscas para aplicaciones en las que no es necesaria una dureza excepcional.<\/p>\n<h2>Propiedades del acero para herramientas A2<\/h2>\n<p>El A2 tambi\u00e9n es un acero para herramientas de endurecimiento por aire, pero incluye menos de la mitad de cromo (4,75 - 5,50%) y un poco menos de carbono (0,95 - 1,05%) que el D2. Es muy resistente al desgaste y moderadamente duro. Al igual que el D2, es incre\u00edblemente resistente a la distorsi\u00f3n durante el tratamiento t\u00e9rmico y es moderadamente mecanizable y rectificable.<br \/>\nLos rangos de dureza populares para el A2 oscilan entre 57 y 62 HRC con un rango de l\u00edmite el\u00e1stico entre 185 ksi y 230 ksi.<br \/>\nEsta formulaci\u00f3n se encuentra com\u00fanmente en matrices de acu\u00f1aci\u00f3n, extrusi\u00f3n, recorte, rodillos de rosca y grandes matrices de corte; punzones largos, rodillos, cubos maestros, mandriles, cuchillas de cizalla, cortadoras y herramientas de precisi\u00f3n.<br \/>\nLos aceros para herramientas S7, D2 y A2 suelen ser siempre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulo.com\/es\/services\/heat-treating\/through-hardening\/\">a trav\u00e9s del endurecido<\/a> en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulo.com\/es\/heat-treating-equipment\/vacuum-furnaces\/\">hornos de vac\u00edo<\/a> para conservar los perfiles superficiales limpios y lisos.<\/p>\n<h2>El papel del tratador t\u00e9rmico<\/h2>\n<p>Un tratamiento t\u00e9rmico adecuado es vital para el rendimiento del acero para herramientas.
