{"id":5728,"date":"2017-03-14T10:27:36","date_gmt":"2017-03-14T15:27:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paulo19.wpengine.com\/?p=5728"},"modified":"2024-01-17T19:02:12","modified_gmt":"2024-01-17T19:02:12","slug":"nitriding-steel-growing-popularity","status":"publish","type":"resources","link":"https:\/\/www.paulo.com\/es\/resources\/nitruracion-acero-creciente-popularidad\/","title":{"rendered":"Por qu\u00e9 la nitruraci\u00f3n del acero es cada vez m\u00e1s popular"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Una t\u00e9cnica de cementaci\u00f3n que se utiliza desde principios de los a\u00f1os 20<sup>th<\/sup> siglo, la nitruraci\u00f3n del acero ha sido una <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulo.com\/es\/services\/heat-treating\/gas-nitriding\/\">tratamiento t\u00e9rmico a baja temperatura<\/a> para las piezas de trabajo durante m\u00e1s tiempo del que los ingenieros y los metal\u00fargicos entend\u00edan.<br \/>\nSu atractivo reside en la capacidad de endurecer una pieza mediante la disoluci\u00f3n de nitr\u00f3geno en su superficie sin austenizarla, lo que elimina pr\u00e1cticamente el riesgo de distorsi\u00f3n. Esto abri\u00f3 la puerta a la mejora de una variedad cada vez mayor de piezas. Su popularidad crece a medida que los ingenieros se dan cuenta de que la t\u00e9cnica es eficaz en una amplia variedad de piezas e industrias.<\/p>\n<h3>Origen del acero nitrurado<\/h3>\n<p>El metal\u00fargico Adolph Machlet desarroll\u00f3 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asminternational.org\/documents\/10192\/1849770\/06950G_Chapter_1.pdf\">nitruraci\u00f3n<\/a> por accidente en 1906. Ese a\u00f1o solicit\u00f3 una patente que consist\u00eda en sustituir el aire de la atm\u00f3sfera de un horno por amon\u00edaco para evitar la oxidaci\u00f3n de las piezas de acero. Poco despu\u00e9s de enviar la solicitud de patente, se dio cuenta de que el tratamiento de las piezas en una atm\u00f3sfera de amon\u00edaco a temperaturas elevadas hac\u00eda que se desarrollara una \"piel, carcasa, caparaz\u00f3n o revestimiento\" alrededor de la pieza que dificultaba enormemente la corrosi\u00f3n o el deslustre.<br \/>\nTambi\u00e9n en 1906, el metal\u00fargico alem\u00e1n Adolph Fry dirigi\u00f3 un programa de investigaci\u00f3n durante el cual hizo los mismos descubrimientos que Machlet. Tambi\u00e9n observ\u00f3 que la adici\u00f3n de elementos de aleaci\u00f3n al hierro influ\u00eda mucho en los resultados de la nitruraci\u00f3n.<br \/>\nLas patentes de Machlet para la nitruraci\u00f3n en Estados Unidos fueron aprobadas en 1913 y 1914; Fry recibi\u00f3 patentes en Alemania para su proceso en 1924.<\/p>\n<h3>C\u00f3mo funciona<\/h3>\n<p>El proceso de nitruraci\u00f3n del acero comienza calentando las piezas en un horno a una temperatura relativamente baja (entre 950 y 1.100 grados Fahrenheit, dependiendo del uso previsto de la pieza) en comparaci\u00f3n con otras <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulo.com\/es\/services\/heat-treating\/\">m\u00e9todos de tratamiento t\u00e9rmico<\/a>. A estas bajas temperaturas, el hierro sigue siendo ferr\u00edtico; no se producen cambios de fase que alteren la estructura del hierro.<br \/>\nPero la temperatura es lo suficientemente alta como para que las mol\u00e9culas de amon\u00edaco inyectadas en el horno se rompan al entrar en contacto con la pieza. Esa ruptura libera \u00e1tomos de nitr\u00f3geno, que son solubles en el hierro. Se forma una capa compuesta de nitr\u00f3geno y hierro en la superficie de la pieza, creando la carcasa que mejora la dureza y la tenacidad de la pieza.<br \/>\nUna de las ventajas de la nitruraci\u00f3n del acero frente a otros tratamientos t\u00e9rmicos es que los equipos modernos de nitruraci\u00f3n permiten la inyecci\u00f3n precisa de amon\u00edaco para conseguir distintas profundidades de caja. Otra ventaja es que las piezas se enfr\u00edan libremente en lugar de enfriarse r\u00e1pidamente mediante <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulo.com\/es\/the-role-of-quenching-in-heat-treating\/\">enfriamiento<\/a>Un proceso que limita a\u00fan m\u00e1s el riesgo de distorsi\u00f3n.<br \/>\nLa precisi\u00f3n del proceso es tal que las cualidades previstas de las piezas se consiguen en un solo paso; no es necesario ablandarlas hasta las especificaciones mediante el templado.<\/p>\n<h3>Aumento de la popularidad<\/h3>\n<p>Dado que la nitruraci\u00f3n de las piezas de acero ofrece una calidad de superficie superior con un riesgo m\u00ednimo de distorsi\u00f3n, el proceso se ha convertido en un tratamiento fundamental de las piezas en una gran variedad de industrias:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Los fabricantes de piezas de automoci\u00f3n optan por nitrurar los engranajes, los cig\u00fce\u00f1ales y las piezas de las v\u00e1lvulas porque el proceso imparte capas duras de difusi\u00f3n a la superficie de la pieza.
