Cada uno tiene sus ventajas e inconvenientes, ya sea sal, aceite, gas o c\u00e1ustico. En un juego de compensaciones, el aceite es el medio m\u00e1s popular porque ofrece la m\u00e1s amplia gama de beneficios a la m\u00e1s amplia gama de piezas.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el enfriamiento del aceite?<\/h3>\n<p>Para entender por qu\u00e9 el aceite es un quenchant popular, es importante entender <a href=\"http:\/\/www.globalspec.com\/learnmore\/materials_chemicals_adhesives\/industrial_oils_fluids\/quenching_oils_heat_treatment_fluids\">qu\u00e9 ocurre en un enfriamiento<\/a>.<br \/>\nLa sucesi\u00f3n de calentamiento y posterior enfriamiento r\u00e1pido de las piezas es una forma de conseguir una dureza a\u00f1adida a una pieza que de otro modo no habr\u00eda sido posible. El calentamiento provoca cambios en la estructura cristalina de la superficie de una pieza met\u00e1lica; el enfriamiento r\u00e1pido \"congela\" esos cambios y endurece la superficie.<\/p>\n<p>La primera etapa de un enfriamiento se conoce como etapa de vapor. Como la pieza sumergida est\u00e1 mucho m\u00e1s caliente que el agente de enfriamiento, se forma una capa de vapor alrededor de la pieza. El enfriamiento de la pieza se produce durante esta etapa, pero se ve impedido por el vapor, que act\u00faa como aislante.<\/p>\n<p>La segunda etapa es la de ebullici\u00f3n, que se caracteriza por la ebullici\u00f3n violenta del quenchant. Las piezas se enfr\u00edan m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidamente en esta etapa porque la temperatura de la pieza ha disminuido lo suficiente durante la etapa anterior para que el manto de vapor se disipe. Al poder entrar en contacto con la pieza sin impedimentos, el quenchant puede arrastrar la mayor parte del calor a trav\u00e9s de la ebullici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>La tercera etapa es la etapa convectiva, durante la cual la convecci\u00f3n y la conducci\u00f3n transportan a\u00fan m\u00e1s el calor fuera de una pieza. La convecci\u00f3n se refiere al movimiento de un l\u00edquido debido a la tendencia de los l\u00edquidos m\u00e1s calientes y menos densos a ascender mientras los l\u00edquidos m\u00e1s fr\u00edos y densos se hunden. La conducci\u00f3n se refiere a la tendencia del calor a disiparse a trav\u00e9s de una sustancia cuando hay diferencias de temperatura en el l\u00edquido. Esta capacidad de control es \u00fatil porque significa que se pueden enfriar con aceite muchos tipos diferentes de piezas, manteniendo la eficiencia de las operaciones.<\/p>\n<p>El aceite es un quenchant vers\u00e1til porque las f\u00f3rmulas de aceite pueden manipularse para adaptarse a diversos resultados finales previstos.
