Existen cuatro tipos diferentes de temple al agua <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulo.com\/es\/resources\/diferentes-medios-de-apagado-metal-explicado\/\">medios de enfriamiento<\/a>c\u00e1ustico, salmuera, agua y pol\u00edmero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enfriadores c\u00e1usticos<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los agentes de enfriamiento c\u00e1ustico, tambi\u00e9n conocidos como agentes de enfriamiento alcalinos, son soluciones acuosas que contienen una alta concentraci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3xido de sodio u otros \u00e1lcalis. Suelen utilizarse para materiales dif\u00edciles de enfriar con agua sola, como el acero inoxidable o los aceros con alto contenido en carbono, porque tienen una velocidad de enfriamiento m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida que el agua sola.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enfriadores de salmuera<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los enfriadores de salmuera son soluciones acuosas que contienen una alta concentraci\u00f3n de sal. Se utilizan para materiales que requieren una velocidad de enfriamiento m\u00e1s lenta que el agua, como los aceros con bajo contenido en carbono, pero m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida que el temple con aceite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apagadores de agua<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los agentes de enfriamiento r\u00e1pido son agua pura, que suele utilizarse para materiales que pueden enfriarse r\u00e1pidamente sin riesgo de agrietamiento o distorsi\u00f3n, como los aceros con bajo contenido en carbono.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apagadores de pol\u00edmeros<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los agentes extintores polim\u00e9ricos son soluciones acuosas que contienen una alta concentraci\u00f3n de pol\u00edmeros, como polietilenglicol o glicol. Se utilizan para materiales que requieren una velocidad de enfriamiento m\u00e1s lenta que el agua, como las aleaciones de aluminio, pero m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida que el temple con aceite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Es importante seleccionar el agente de temple adecuado para un material y una aplicaci\u00f3n concretos, a fin de conseguir las propiedades deseadas y evitar el agrietamiento o la deformaci\u00f3n del material. Los aceros con m\u00e1s de 0,3% de carbono no pueden someterse al temple en agua porque pueden agrietarse durante este proceso. Los materiales con menos de 0,3% son los m\u00e1s adecuados para el temple en agua. El ingeniero metal\u00fargico Rob Simons se refiere a esto como el \"nivel m\u00e1gico de carbono\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tener en cuenta la geometr\u00eda de las piezas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Debido a la severidad del temple en agua, la geometr\u00eda de la pieza es una consideraci\u00f3n importante a la hora de determinar si sus piezas son adecuadas para este proceso.
