A diferencia de muchas t\u00e9cnicas de cementaci\u00f3n, la nitrocarburaci\u00f3n ferr\u00edtica se produce a temperaturas relativamente bajas mientras el acero est\u00e1 en fase ferr\u00edtica, en lugar de austen\u00edtica. La temperatura exacta depende del uso que se le d\u00e9 a la pieza, pero suele estar entre los 950 y los 1100 grados Fahrenheit.
