En comparaci\u00f3n con el austempering, en el que los enfriamientos se realizan a temperaturas m\u00e1s altas, las piezas martemperizadas se enfr\u00edan a una temperatura m\u00e1s baja (generalmente alrededor de 350 \u00b0F, dependiendo de la aleaci\u00f3n). Las piezas se mantienen en el temple a esta temperatura para que se enfr\u00eden s\u00f3lo el tiempo suficiente -entre cinco y diez minutos- para que las temperaturas del n\u00facleo y de la superficie se igualen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A continuaci\u00f3n, las piezas se sacan del enfriamiento y se siguen enfriando al aire libre a temperatura ambiente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enfriar la pieza s\u00f3lo el tiempo suficiente para estabilizar las temperaturas de la superficie y el n\u00facleo y, a continuaci\u00f3n, enfriar en aire tranquilo favorece la formaci\u00f3n de martensita, la forma m\u00e1s dura que puede adoptar un acero. La formaci\u00f3n de martensita mediante otros procesos de tratamiento t\u00e9rmico es posible, pero las piezas se someten a una tensi\u00f3n mucho mayor en esos procesos, lo que aumenta el riesgo de distorsi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aplicaciones del martemplado<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los aceros de alta calidad y gran dureza o las piezas de producci\u00f3n con secciones transversales gruesas o muy variables responden mejor al martemplado. Las piezas m\u00e1s adecuadas para el martemplado son los cojinetes y los engranajes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulo.com\/es\/markets\/herramienta-matriz\/\">herramientas, matrices<\/a>y ejes en los que las tolerancias son la principal preocupaci\u00f3n.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Beneficios del Martempering<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El martemplado ayuda a reducir el riesgo del proceso de tratamiento t\u00e9rmico, y su precisi\u00f3n se ve reforzada por los controles automatizados de los hornos de Paulo. Como esta dureza suele ser superior a la requerida por las especificaciones, la pieza debe ser templada. Para ablandar una pieza hasta los niveles de dureza especificados, debe recalentarse a una temperatura de entre 300\u00b0F y 1.200\u00b0F. El templado tambi\u00e9n aumenta la ductilidad de la pieza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La cantidad de dureza eliminada de una pieza durante el revenido var\u00eda en funci\u00f3n de la temperatura de recalentamiento. Por ejemplo, las herramientas y matrices que deben permanecer muy duras se templan a temperaturas m\u00e1s bajas. This bainitic microstructure provides exceptional toughness and ductility, though it can&#8217;t achieve quite the same high levels of strength and hardness as martensite.
