Operations Update – Monterrey Division
As the coronavirus continues to impact business around the world, at Paulo we are continuing to monitor the situation in each of our locations. Maintaining the safety and health of our team members enables us to provide thermal processing services to our customers and is of utmost importance. We are working closely with our customers to update forecasts and understand their needs over the coming weeks and months. We continue to focus on social distancing and hygiene in addition to adopting temperature taking and other policy and procedure changes to protect our team.
As a result of our Monterrey Division’s customer base ceasing operations temporarily, we will suspend operations of our Monterrey plant effective April 6th.  We plan to resume operations on May 4th to coincide with our customers returning to work. We are working with the team members at our Monterrey location to continue work from home when possible and to ensure a smooth transition as we resume work in early May.

Paulo’s role as part of the Essential Critical Infrastructure
As many State and local governments move to shelter in place or stay at home orders, there are several groups exempt from those orders. The US Department of Homeland Security has issued guidance via the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).  CISA maintains a list of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers and the industries they support.
Paulo provides thermal processing for a wide variety of industries and end-users. Based on the CISA guidance we fit squarely in the definition of Critical Manufacturing.
“Workers necessary for the manufacturing of materials and products needed for medical supply chains, transportation, energy, communications, food and agriculture, chemical manufacturing, nuclear facilities, the operation of dams, water and wastewater treatment, emergency services, and the defense industrial base.”
Through the past days we have received numerous communications from customers informing us of their status as a part of Critical Manufacturing and counting on our support to continue to make the parts and products necessary for life. Paulo is, as always, committed the success of our customers, and those our customers support.
We recognize the sacrifice of those called on to work through these challenging times, and we continue to work to ensure the safety of our team members and their families. We are evaluating and implementing additional measures where appropriate in addition to the social distancing and cleaning techniques previously in place.

We value the health and safety of our customers and employees at Paulo. We also understand that the COVID-19 virus is presenting challenges for businesses in all industries due to supply chain disruption, closures, and event cancellations. We’ve been fielding a lot of questions from our customers over the past few days, so we wanted to post a statement to keep you informed of our status and plan for COVID-19.

  • Our plan is to remain fully operational. We are taking extra precautions to keep our facilities clean and sanitary so that our support and plant team members can continue to serve our customers. We have no plans to close our offices or plants at this time.
  • Our supply chain remains strong. Thanks to our strong suppliers and inventory planning, we don’t foresee any disruptions that would impact our ability to deliver product as usual.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional guidance and information as the CDC provides additional recommendations. At this time, we plan to assess daily to make plans and adjustments as needed. If any adjustments become necessary, this page will be updated to reflect them.

Thank you for your continued partnership and trust in Paulo. If you have further questions or concerns, please reach out to your sales or customer service representative.
